Terms of Use
Decibel Pro is a consumer tool for estimating environmental sound levels and keeping local measurement context. Its readings and exposure estimates are for everyday reference.
App license
Use of the app downloaded from the App Store is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and applicable law. This page explains the app's intended use and limitations and does not replace that license or limit your statutory consumer rights.
Measurements and exposure estimates
Sound-level readings are estimates affected by iPhone model, microphone condition, case, placement, and the surrounding sound field. Reference calibration does not turn an iPhone into a certified sound level meter.
Exposure estimates cover only periods that you measured and use a reference model of 8 hours at 85 dBA, with reference duration halved for each 3 dB increase. They do not measure your complete daily exposure or guarantee a safe listening duration.
Do not rely on the app for occupational safety certification, environmental enforcement, engineering acceptance, medical diagnosis, or legal evidence. Where accurate measurements or health advice are needed, use suitable certified equipment and qualified professional guidance.
Recordings and camera use
Measurement sessions save local audio recordings by default. Background measurement can continue an active session when the app is not in the foreground. Review permissions and settings before recording, and stop the session when you are finished.
Use audio, photos, and video in accordance with applicable laws and the privacy and rights of other people. Obtain permission where required before recording or sharing. You are responsible for choosing what to capture and with whom to share it.
Local storage and interruptions
The app does not provide a developer-operated cloud backup. Low storage, permission changes, incoming calls, system interruptions, or deletion can affect measurements and recordings. Keep any copies you need before deleting records or the app. Photos and videos saved to Photos are managed separately.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains local processing, recordings, permissions, system sharing, deletion, and support messages. No account is required to use the app.
